Janet Marie Lutz, 67, of Easton, PA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at her residence on October 5, 2025.


Born on February 14, 1958, in Easton, PA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Earl F. and Althea M. (Snyder) Lutz.


Janet was a dedicated Elementary Education Teacher for 30 years at Charles County School District in Waldorf, MD. She was a proud 1976 graduate of Bangor Area High School and earned her Bachelor's Degree from East Stroudsburg University.


A devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Easton, PA, Janet was actively involved in the Ladies' Bible Fellowship Group. She was also a member of the National Education Association (NEA) and had a passion for traveling.


Janet is survived by her brother, David E. Lutz, and his wife Deborah, her step-brothers Edward 'Ted' O. Jones and his wife Joan, and Kevin L. Jones. She is also survived by her stepmother, Barbara Ann Lutz; niece, Kathie De La Hoz; nephew, Jeremy Lutz; great-niece, Kennedy Lutz; two great-nephews, Zaden Lutz and Cohen De La Hoz. Jan treasured the companionship of her loyal dog, Rufus, who preceded her in death.


Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 11th, at Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery, located on Church Drive in Trachsville, PA.


A Celebration of Janet's Life will be held at 11 AM on Monday, October 13th, at Calvary Baptist Church, 5300 Green Pond Road, Easton, PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., "Village of Johnsonville", Bangor, PA.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Tunnels to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306.

I had the pleasure of teaching with Janet. She was a dedicated and caring educator who touched many students' lives. I am so thankful to have worked with her and for our wonderful friendship. I will miss her.
