Not sure what to say?

Mrs. Janet was an amazing lady. In the late 80's 90's she would play piano for our children in Sunday School at First Baptist Dallas. Children loved her too. When she would travel abroad she would always bring back something for our kids. Miss her terribly. God Bless her.

Sonya and Gene - so many memories of Janet are running through my head right now as I process her passing. Janet Merrill had such a strong influence on my teaching career. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Love in Christ, Linda Wolfe

Janet was my wonderful organ teacher when I was in high school. I also served in their wedding. I am looking forward to reuniting with Dear Janet in heaven.

So sorry Sonya and Gene, I spent every Friday afternoon with Janet for almost 40 years, she enjoyed getting her hair done, she encouraged me for my strong work etchings, and my son to always study at the highest standards to be what he wanted to be, and he did, she loved her travels and always brought me back a memory, she raised a beautiful kind daughter who was my sleep Doctor always helpful to me, she had a wonderful blessed life which I am thankful I was a part of, you will be missed...

Janet Louise Hippensteel Merrill was a very close friend for at least 70 years. We also found out that we are distant cousins on my father's side and her mother's side. We were never without note, birthday cards, letters, calls for all those years, even though we both had busy lives. I miss her very much, but her memory will always be alive with me as long as I am alive.

I was saddened to learn the passing of Janet. It was such a privilege for me and my family to fellowship with Janet at the Pathfinders. It´s comforting to know that the hope we share in Christ doesn´t disappoint. Blessings,

Dr. Merrill encouraged my advancement from undergraduate to graduate school. Her mentorship was caring and loving which aided my ability to sustain 37 years in education. I appreciate everything she taught me while at Berkshire Christian College.

To my memory, I saw "Janet and Gene" only once, probably the summer of 1980 in Watertown, WI, but I heard of them all my life, their having been college friends of my parents. For this enrichment of my parents' life I am grateful and look forward to an eternity together with all who, like them, were saved by grace.
