Jan's kindness and encouragement was an inspiration to me as a fledgling administrator in Fairfax County Public School. Later, her support allowed me to follow in her footsteps at George Mason University. One of my special memories was meeting her on several occasions for a "gourmet" breakfast at McDonald's. Whenever I think of Jan, I remember her beaming smile and warm hugs. She was an incredible person and a gift to all of us.
