Janet Osborne Obituary
Janet Bartley Osborne, age 83, of Lynchburg, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022.
She was born on February 5, 1939, in Montebello, Virginia, the daughter of the late W.M. Bartley Sr. and Louise B. Walker and stepfather, Rufus B. Walker. She was also preceded in death by her brother, William M. Bartley Jr. and stepson, Ron Osborne.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, R.V. "Griz" Osborne. A loving mother to her daughter Sidona and husband O.B. Garriss Jr.; her fur baby, Mickey; stepson, Tim and Pauline Osborne; and stepdaughters, Gail Dube and Lynn Osborne.
Known as "Meme" she loved and looked forward to seeing to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Leslie Taylor and son, Levi, Matthew and Danielle Garriss and children, Keira and Colton, and step grandchildren Alex and Austin Osborne.
She is also survived by her brother, Michael Walker; sister, MaryEllen Lawhorne, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Brooks, Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lynchburg Humane Society or the Campbell County Humane Society.

Janet made the best peanut butter fudge, hands down! Even after she retired from Atco she would bring us a tin at Christmas time. A wonderful lady who will be missed.
