Janet Otis and Rita Kuder at Strong Museum, 1999

Janet Otis and Rita Kuder volunteering at Strong Museum, 1996

I will always remember Janet for her great sense of style, her love of Rochester and its cultural institutions, and her willingness to try new things. Just this summer she was scanning slides for our database and editing them in Photoshop. Working with her at the Strong National Museum of Play for the past seven years has been such a pleasure. She was always ready with a wonderful story about her family, or her travels, or the Gallery. My Wednesday afternoons will be a little less bright...

Janet was one of our most valued and loyal volunteers here at Strong National Museum of Play. She was dedicated and determined to accomplish her projects and will be much missed by all her colleagues on the Collections Team.

Janet and I volunteered at the Strong Museum for more than twenty years. I cherish the memory of the good times we shared; the movies we saw together, the countless lunches, all the good conversations. I miss her so much. I extend my most sincere sympathy to you all in your loss.

FRIENDS FROM LEDYARD METHODIST CHURCH ARE REMEMBERING THE OTIS FAMILY, OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AT THIS TIME.

Janet was my volunteer in the Slide Library and archives, at the Memorial ARt Gallery, for the last 10 years. I always enjoyed our talks before we got started and her joy in my sharing of my new granddaughter. She was a joy to have here at the Gallery and I will miss her weekly visits.
