Rest in Peace Janet

Rest in Peace Janet. Thanks for your service!

I have just learned of Janet's passing last September. We served together for eight years in the CT House. I always admired Janet's ability to cut through to the essence of an issue - with humor and with the facts - and to knock heads when necessary to achieve a majority vote. We came from opposite ends of the state and did not agree on every issue. But, I enjoyed serving with her and appreciated her smarts, her integrity and her wit. Please let me know when her memorial service will be held...

Janet, whom we called "Nebbie' when we were in Cambridge/Boston for the HRMTP (Harvard Radcliffe Management Training Program; a pilot program to see if women could handle the "B" School. which, of course we could} went on our first "work study" part of the program. All of us were assigned "blue collar" tasks to see what it was like to be on an assembly line, file papers in a big insurance company, or sell in Macy's toy department in the month of Nov.

Nebbie and I were assigned to...

Dear Family,
Members of Alpha Kappa State of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society send our deepest condolences to you on the loss of your dear Janet. We recently read her obituary in the Hartford Courant.

Delta Kappa Gamma is an international organization of key women educators. In 1981, Janet was inducted as an honorary member of Eta Chapter, CT. Since she moved away we had lost personal contact but we always included her on our roles as an esteemed member. Janet will be remembered in...

Janet was a beautiful person in her political career. She did a lot of good for the people of Waterford, CT.

The author of Janet's obituary did a wonderful job capturing her irrepressible spirit. I'm so glad to hear it was with her through the end.

I loved working with her at the General Assembly. We longtime veterans of the State Capitol think there was something special about that time - strong leaders with strong personalities who combined to lift the work of the General Assembly above the humdrum, a striving for excellence. Janet epitomizes that generation of leaders. She's...

Reading the obituary brought back so many memories of our shared lives growing up. Your mom was one of a kind and I always found her fascinating and inspiring - and funny as hell. The world is a bit quieter and less interesting without her, especially at a time when we need more people like her to stand up and fight the good fight.

Sending my love and condolences to all of you and hoping you continue to celebrate Janet's life, spirit and legacy....
