Janet M. Rahn, 93, of Manchester, NH, died April 21, 2007, at Villa Crest Nursing Home surrounding by her loving family, after a period of declining health.
In her life:
Born in Manchester, NH on February 23, 1914, she was the daughter Charles and Janet (Sword) McMillan who were immigrants from Glasgow, Scotland. She and her family were part the great Amoskeage Mill tradition.
Mrs. Rahn was a lifelong resident of the city.
Since 1944, she and her family spent summers at their cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee, Moultonboro, NH.
She attended Manchester schools and spent her life as a homemaker.
Mrs. Rahn was an accomplish pianist. She was an avid golfer and member of the Manchester Country Club and the Intervale Country Club. In addition, she was a member of the MCC Bowling Team.
Mrs. Rahn was a longtime communicant of Saint Catherine Church.
She was married Edward J. Rahn who died January 3, 1981.
Family members include her daughter, Patricia Fielding DeGrandpre of Kittery Point, ME, her two sons, Peter Rahn of Auburn, NH and Richard M. Rahn of Brooklyn, NY, three grandchildren, Peter Fielding, of West Springs, IL, Lizabeth Fielding of Hollywood, FL and Devin Rahn of Manchester, NH, two great- grandchildren, Joey Santino Giordano and Jack Fielding; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson, Casey Rahn who died in 2000 and also two sisters, Mary McCullough, Louise Connell, and her brother, Charles McMillan.

Services: There are no calling hours.
The funeral will be held Wednesday with a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 AM in Saint Catherine Church, Webster Street, Manchester, NH.
Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Bedford, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Animal Rescue League of NH, 545 State Route 101, Bedford, NH 03110.
The Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, Manchester is in charge of the arrangements.
