Janet Sharon Teresa Redley was born to Rupert and Lyndel Redley on June 9, 1966 in Deptford, England. In 1972, she came to Massachusetts, by way of Jamaica. Janet and her siblings quickly acclimated to life in the U.S., and she took a particular interest in school. At Revere High School, she was inducted into the National Honor Society; she was later accepted to Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, where she was awarded her Bachelor of Science in 1988. Upon graduation, Janet worked for a year before attending law school at Northwestern University. She made the Dean’s list and earned her juris doctorate in 1992. As an attorney, Janet worked at several prestigious firms, including Prudential, Wachovia, Morgan Stanley, and Citibank. Outside of work, Janet won a service award for her pro bono work on behalf of the children and families of New York City. A daughter, a sister, a scholar, a friend , and a firebrand in all facets of her chosen profession , Janet left a lasting impact on all those around her. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a funeral at the Elm St. Baptist Church, Everett, on Friday, April 24th., at 10 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.

Janet, you would have been 57 today. I often think of you. I miss our long chats & still hear your voice in my head. I hope your family is doing OK. I think of how much they meant to you. Always your friend.

I still think about Janet often. I miss her. The last time I saw her was at the Menlo Park, where we walked around the park near the mall. Miss you, Janet.
