JANET LUCILE REED

Mrs. Reed taught two of our three children. She was a wonderful teacher. She held high expectations for her students. She encouraged her students to work to their potential. She is one of the teachers that my
children always bring up when we start reminiscing about our good ole days in Solon. We thank God for her life. We are grateful she is now resting with her Heavenly Father.

My earthly angel has ascended to heaven to be with the Lord. Janet and I were kindred spirits. She was my mentor and dear forever friend.
As the second African American teacher to be hired in the Solon City Schools during the early 90’s, Janet embraced me and took me under her wings. She shared her exemplary teaching skills, wisdom, and love for Christ, which sealed our bond. We were inseparable. We were kindred spirits.
We could read each other’s mind as we synchronized...

Mrs. Reed was my 6th grade teacher. She was an amazing teacher and challenged us to stretch to our maximum.
