Not sure what to say?

I was a student of Ms. Rose for several years until I was politely asked to retire for lack of practice. She gave my mom divorce advice. She gave us a warm, welcoming break from the chaos at home. I was far from a prize student but she still gave me a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream party and lots more. Sending love and light to her family and students.

We miss my wonderful, amazing cousin every day, she is in thoughts all the time! I know for sure she would so proud of her 3 incredible daughters and her outstanding grandkids, Travis & Rita! My heart broke Sept. 11, 2009, RIP, my Love, Janet..... Jo!

true friends are never lost

to janet's family....i grew up with janet in orillia....many, many beautiful memories ...always kind and good humoured...we lived in close proximity to one another and spent many a day at each other's houses...she will be forever remembered and cherished

I had the pleasure of knowing Janet for 33 years, through an almost lifelong friendship with her daughter Stephanie. My experience of Janet changed throughout the years, as seen through the eyes of a child, then teen and finally an adult.

As a child, her home was always warm and welcoming - the scent of delicious food baking in the oven, the tinkling of piano keys and most important, her encouragement of childhood glee and antics.

As a teen I watched her handle...

Janet was my daughters' piano teacher, our neighbor and friend to us all. No one could make a person feel as special as she did. We will miss her so much. Our sympathy to her family and all her "best friends".

Janet was a wonderful piano teacher and special friend to my two sons and me. We are all saddened to learn of her passing, but are cheered when we think of all the lives she has touched in a very special way. She certainly deserves all the kind things that have been said in these on-line tributes, and in the presentations at the memorial recital last week.

We wish the best to Stephanie, Alyssa, and Michelle, as well as to Steve and Travis and Rita. We know that Janet's passing is...

I was so sad to hear about Janet's passing. We met her when my 5 yo son started taking lessons years ago. I also had the pleasure of lessons with Janet. Later, Stephanie became one of our summer babysitters during the year she interned at Mystic Aquarium. Janet was a one in a million person who was just as dedicated to her little ones as she was to her accomplished piano soloists. She was a special woman who brought the sunshine into a room. And the dogs! Was there ever anyone who loved...
