Janice P. Carnes

Janice Pearl (Alfred) Carnes, 84, of PenArgyl, died peacefully Friday morning, May 16, 2025, at Asbury Chandler Estates. Born December 18, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Pearl (VanKirk) Alfred. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Carnes who died in 1995, brother Sherwood Alfred and wife Dorothea and companion Robert Thomas. Janice graduated from Pen Argyl High School in 1958. She later relocated to California, Hawaii and New Port Richey, Florida. She spent many years traveling back and forth from Florida and Pennsylvania. Janice worked as a substitute teacher and then Social Worker in Florida. She is survived by two sons, Richard Miller and wife Mary Ann of Danielsville, PA, and Jeff Carnes and wife Elise of Ft. Myers, Florida; four grandchildren, Tyler Miller (wife Florinda) Makayla Miller (fiance Hunter Roberts), Ryan Carnes and Payton Carnes; two great grandsons, Edward Miller and Nolan Miller. Services will be held at Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC, 126 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Pen Argyl on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 11 am. There will be a visitation hour prior to the service. Burial will conclude services at Fairview Cemetery, Pen Argyl. Online condolences may be offered at www.ruggierofuneralhome.com.
