Not sure what to say?

Rich, Tom, Greg, Julie, Maggie, and Doats

It comes as no surprise your mom's funeral Mass was a standing-room affair. Maggie, your eulogy was sweet, poignant and from the heart; forcing me and others to reach for the Kleenex box several times . The reception to follow was cathartic and the perfect panacea as you and we embark on life without Jan Chase.

With the only two driveways on the block, that happened to abut one other, 732 & 740 Monroe naturally became center...

Mrs. Chase was a grand women. Full of strength, warmth, and gentleness. I have admired her for the whole of my life and always will. I hold her and all Chases gently in my thoughts and prayers.

Grandma GaGa,
Of the many blessings that come from being young, possibly the best is having a Grandmother to look up to; especially one as amazing as you. Learning of your passing saddened me beyond belief, and I cannot begin to imagine what life will be like without you. However, the many memories I have of you will forever comfort me as I try to adapt to living a life deprived of your love and kindness. From trying coffee for the first time at your house, to doing crossword puzzles...

Rich, Tom, Greg, Julie, Maggie and Doats - I am sorry i won't be there to celebrate Jan's life tomorrow. I wanted you to know that I admire the care, love and respect you showed your Mom, not just in her final days but for her last years. Caring for one's Mom is one of the most loving, challenging and conflicting acts of kindness a child can give. You all did Jan proud. She's smiling down on us all.

To the entire Chase family and friends,
I was fortunate enough to be joined into the Chase family many years ago. I was just a young lad and yearing for family support when my family was in a bit of turmoil. My best and longest life long friend Greg and I became joined at the hip at an young age. In spite of our behaviors, Jan always looked at us with a smile and her loving eyes. Never held judgement and always with a learning lesson intended.
I remember my last time when we met....

To my dear Denver family, my heart breaks for all of you. Your mom, whom I lovingly call my mid-west mom, was one of the kindest, sweetest, most giving people I have ever known. She welcomed me with open arms into her family and home, and told me she would always have a room for me. I am so fortunate to have had her in my life. She is in heaven now, watching over all of us with her caring eyes, and smiling upon us with her warm and pretty smile. May she rest in peace. ❤

Dear Chase Family,

I was greatly saddened to hear of your Mom's death. She was one of the backbone Mom's on our block on Monroe Street and I loved her dearly. I remember when Maggie and Doatsie were born and how she would let me come over and hold the babies for as long as I wanted! I loved babies. I remember being best friends with Tommy for a few years and during that time, Mr. Chase died and only a month later my Uncle Bobby (Paula's brother) died. Jan gave me such comfort...
