Janice Curran Cothran, 81, resident of Morningside of Greenwood, formerly of 305 Lake Forest Road, widow of Clyde Charles Cothran, Jr. died September 30, 2015 at Hospice House. Born in Summerville, May 16, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Robert Bush and Bessie Aldret Curran. A graduate of Lander College, Mrs. Cothran was a public school educator. She taught Biology at Newberry College, Lander College, Northside Junior High School and Emerald High School, a career she enjoyed every minute of for over forty years. Mrs. Cothran was a member of Hodges Presbyterian Church. Surviving are two sons, Clyde Charles Cothran, III and his wife, Alison of Orlando, FL, and Robert Derrick Cothran and his wife, Beth of Greenwood; a daughter, Lea Paige Cothran Hampton and husband Frederick of Tampa, FL; two brothers, Robert Curran and Forrest Curran; a sister, Lynn Allen; five grandchildren, Christian Cothran, Savannah Campbell, Kayla Brannan, Curran Jordan Hampton, and Bryant Mason; and a great-grandchild, Wells Campbell. Visitation will be Saturday, October 3, 2 p.m., at Blyth Funeral Home, Greenwood, South Carolina. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m., Blyth Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home of Robert Derrick Cothran, 112 South Pond Road, Greenwood.
