Janice Joyce Ping Gentry, 81 years of age, of Beelick community of Eubank, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, December 26th, 2022 at her home.
Janice was born on April 3, 1941 in the Good Hope community of Eubank, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Homer C. and Clarice B. Adams Ping. She was married to her late husband Paul Gentry on December 20, 1961. She was a homemaker and longtime dedicated member of Liberty Baptist Church. She was steadfast in her faith, loved God, her family, and church. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, gardening, growing flowers, working, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her three sons Darrell (and Ruby) Gentry of Crab Orchard, Kentucky, Gordon (and Trisha) Gentry of Eubank, Kentucky, Jesse Gentry of Eubank, Kentucky; three brothers, Ronald (and Sue) Ping of Eubank, Kentucky, Brent (and Jean) Ping of Monticello, Kentucky, and Danny Ping of Eubank, Kentucky; one sister Patsy (and Porter) Morrow of Burnside, Kentucky; one sister-in-law, Kathy Ping of Eubank, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Darla (and Justin) Dalton, Ryan (and Jaelindsey) Gentry, Jessica (and Darrick) Bechard, Lance (and Mallory) Gentry, Sean (and Heather) Gentry, and Jason (and Meagan) Gentry; seventeen great grandchildren, Blakley, Lakyn, Bristol, Emmie, Dallon, Weston, Aspyn, Adley, Mollie, Finn, Kayson, Axle, Paislee, Remi, Ensley, Todd, and Rowan; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother Gary Ping and sister-in-law, Pam Ping.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Liberty Baptist Church on Hwy 328.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 11:00 am at Liberty Baptist Church with Bro. Zandell Hasty officiating. Burial will be at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ryan Gentry, Lance Gentry, Sean Gentry, Jason Gentry, Justin Dalton and Darrick Bechard. Honorary pallbearers will be Darla Dalton and Jessica Bechard.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
