Janice Guillory Obituary

GUILLORY Janice Thriffiley Guillory of Covington, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2008, at the age of 80, after complications of a long illness. She was born November 5, 1928, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Margaret Farrell Thriffiley and Paul Julius Thriffiley, Sr. Janice received her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, retiring as an educator, having worked in both public and private schools. This was a profession she truly loved and embraced. She was a member of St Jane de Chantal Church in Abita Springs, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her parents; six sisters and their spouses, Marcella and A.T. Leonhard; Margie and Cyril Glover; Ruth and George Ramel; Helen and Ainsworth Kidd; Catherine and Edward Heath; Betty and Bill Reinhardt; and two brothers Paul J. Thriffiley and Frank Thriffiley. Janice is survived by her husband of 44 years, Clarence Guillory, Sr.; daughters Julie Guillory Fenger and her husband Robert P. Fenger, Therese Guillory Florez and husband Fernando Florez and Paula Guillory Brightman and husband Tom A. Brightman; her son Clarence Paul Guillory, Jr; her grandchildren Ray Marie Fenger, Caroline Fenger, Rob Fenger, Genevieve Lemoine, Spencer Lemoine, Mary Catherine Brightman, Thomas Brightman and Margarita Gayon. She is also survived by her devoted sister-in-law, Ardyn Thriffiley, and her lifelong friends Louise Abadie and Elaine McClain. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses, staff and friends of Heritage Manor in Mandeville, Louisiana and Gulf States LTAC and Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington, Louisiana. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2008. Interment will follow at Metairie Cemetery. A Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 10, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m. To sign and view the Family Guestbook, please visit www.lakelawnmetairie.com.

Dear Clarence, Aunt Janice will be truly missed as she was so Loved by David and me. But now she is in Heaven with B & Bet and I know they greeted her with open arms as they too Loved her as much as we did. I will always remember her calling me Freta Stara because I Loved to dance.
