Janice Lindberg was my colleague and my mentor. I began working with her in 1975 when she was the director of my department at the UM School of Nursing. We co-authored 4 textbooks together, and her scholarship set the tone for our work. Jan also encouraged me to return to school to earn my doctorate in nursing. I worked with Jan for almost 10 years during the years when she was associate dean for student affairs.
