Not sure what to say?

Dear Merrills,

I was so sorry to hear about your daughter today. What a beautiful girl. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Sincerly,

Judy Winegar

A visit from the Walton's brought us the sad news of your daughter. What a beautiful girl! We send our love and prayers.

As one mother to another, please accept my sincere condolences for the untimely passing of your beautiful daughter. My in-laws who would now be well over 100 years old would never say the word "cancer" because once upon a time there was a stigma attached. How wonderful that we as a society now realize there is no shame and many obituaries talking about losing a battle with cancer. Thank you for helping to remove the stigma of struggling with addictions and that it happens sometimes even in...

I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for talking about her battle with addiction in her obituary. My 19 year old brother is struggling with an addiction and even though I don't know your daughter, it was so heart breaking to see another beautiful person lose the battle. You are in my prayers.

I did not know your daughter, (she truly is beautiful) but I know addiction. As a person who does interventions, I know that many people feel shame when they experience the disease, or have someone who suffers with this insidious disease. Thank you for your courage to share her story and let people know that it is no respecter of people.

Merrill Family,
I just learned today about Jani, and I wanted to let you know how very sorry I am for your loss. As I sat and thought about Jani I started to remember her in Junior High where we met, and it was so wild to think she is actually gone. I don't really know what to say that can let you know how much I feel for your loss. I lost my brother last year and no word can be said that can make you feel better. You just need to be thankful for the time you had, the pictures, and the...

Lance & Cherrie,
Paula and I are so sorry to hear of your loss. Our prayers and love to you and all your family.
Love,
Loel and Paula

Jani was a beautiful girl.I will remember her warm and energetic smile everytime I saw her in the commons or the hallways of Timpview High School. It truly is a blessing to know that she is in a more peaceful state and I commend Mr. and Mrs. Merrill for their courage in stating addiction as Jani's pathway to death. We see how easy it is for one so beautiful and happy to be taken by such a strong epidemic sweeping our young people. My prayers and thoughts are with the Merrill family and may...
