DRESDEN: Janice E. Palmer, 72, of Newark, Ohio died Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at her home.
Born March 27, 1941 in Zanesville, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Roy Reed and Geneva (LeMaster) Reed of Zanesville. She was retired from LICCO of Newark. Janice enjoyed camping, crafts, music and square dancing and she was active in animal care and rescue.
Surviving is her life partner, David Clark of Newark; a daughter, Shellie (Doug) Nath of Dresden, Ohio; a son Donald F. (Victoria) Palmer of Hopewell, Ohio; four grandchildren, Chelsea (Dave Weaver) Rhinebarger, Devin (Crystal) Rhinebarger, Ashley (Aaron) Martin and Jarrett Palmer; five great grandchildren, Madison, Mallory, Maci, Cameron and Sawyer; two sisters, Betty (Robert) Palmer of Zanesville and Judy Strong of Hopewell; two brothers, Roy Kenneth Reed and Ronald Reed, both of Zanesville; several nieces and nephews and her loving dogs, "Mindy Sue" and "Honeybear".
In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her former husband, Harry E. Palmer.
Calling hours will be from 5pm to 7pm Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street. Funeral services will be at 7pm Friday, February 21, 2014 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Megan's Fund, Care of: Refugee Canyon Veterinary Services, Inc., 116 North 9th Street, Hebron, Ohio 43025.

I only met Janice a few times through my father David Clark and she was always very nice and very caring.I especially admired Janice for her work with people with disabilities and her efforts and love towards animals .
