Hawthorne Funeral Home - Mount Vernon Obituary

Janice Lynn Peth was born on September 26, 1949, in Bow, Washington, to Jerry and Geneva Peth. She grew up in the close-knit community of Edison, attending Edison Grade School and later graduating from Burlington-Edison High School. In 1971, Janice earned her degree in Police Science and Administration from Washington State University, setting the foundation for a distinguished career in industrial security.

Over the years, Janice brought her expertise to five major industries—manufacturing, retail, insurance, military defense, and health care—serving in key roles across the country. Her professional journey took her to New York, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Eugene, and the San Francisco Bay Area.

In 2007, Janice returned to Washington state, choosing to spend her later years surrounded by family and lifelong friends. Her presence was a steady source of love and connection, and she remained deeply engaged in the lives of those she held dear.

Janice is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Denice and Charles Tewalt, and Cheri and Monte Bartnett, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
