Janice Elaine Sutherland, 69, of Monongahela, died Friday, May 26, 2023 in Jefferson Hospital. She was born September 29, 1953 in New Eagle, the daughter of the late Andrew Charles Bakori and Thelma Mae Stinogle Bakori who survives and resides in Finleyville.
Janice was a 1971 graduate of Monongahela High School and a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela. She was employed at Allegheny General Hospital in Patient Registration and as a certified nursing assistant for seventeen years. She loved to bake and spend time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Gery Sutherland, with whom she celebrated fifty one years of marriage on July 20, 2022; son, Gery (Veronica) Sutherland of Canonsburg; daughter, Heather (Andrew) Popich of Monongahela; six grandchildren, Carrera and Vincent Sutherland, Blake and Cash Eisel, Adriana and Andrew Popich, IV; brother, Andrew (Brenda) Charles Bakori, Jr. of Finleyville.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and John Holmes.
At Janice’s request there will be no visitations or services. Arrangements were entrusted to the Frye Funeral Home.
