Janice Gannon Vance

Janice M. Gannon- Vance, age 65, of Lynn and Lynnfield, died Friday, March 13, 2009, after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Laurence W. "Silver" and Elizabeth M. (Grindrod) Gannon. Born and raised in Lynn, she has lived in Lynnfield for the past 34 years. Janice was educated in Lynn schools and a member of the first graduating class at Marion Court Junior College, Swampscott, MA She was the first Executive Director of the WGAM and most recently employed as the Principal's Administrative Assistant at Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational School. Janice was a member of the Gannon Golf Club, which is named in honor of her late father. She was an avid golfer who lived her life through the game of golf. She is survived by her two daughters, Betsy Flanagan and her husband Patrick of Glencoe, IL and Amanda Gannon Vance of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren, Madeline, Thomas, Katherine and her newest blessing, Campbell Janice Flanagan; her brother Larry Gannon and his wife Judy of Charlottesville, VA; her sister Elaine Jacques and her husband Donald of Middleton; several nieces, nephews and many wonderful, caring friends. A memorial mass will be held Saturday, March 21, 2009 in Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Lynnfield at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Interment is private.
