Not sure what to say?

I met Janice in 1996, as the leader of a courageous group of Adena residents who fought off Waste Management's plot to put a massive dump in Adena. Against incredible odds, they shut down a $1billion dump that put their water, land, and children at risk. She was a firecracker!

Janice and I we're co-workers and became good friends. Even after I moved on to a different job we stayed friends and became even closer. She was included in some family parties at my sister Jeanette's house. My family and I just loved her so much! ❤ She had so many good traits that a person could have... Sharp, witty, easy going, outgoing, spontaneous, kind, caring, giving, strong, compassionate, interesting conversationalist, artistic, intelligent, and so many more including so much...

What I would give for one more conversation with my Aunt Jan! Her passion and light will continue to be an inspiration for the rest of my life. I'll never forget those trips to Adena and how she'd have blank canvases all set up with brushes and paints ready to go for us kids. And I'll never forget her smile.. she was always smiling! I love you so much Aunt Jan. Thank you for being YOU❤

Dear AJ-I still cannot believe you won't be here sharing any more holidays with all of us. You've been celebrating with our family now from before Boch passed. All the laughs, memories and Polish traditions we shared over the years. Always a good laugh and special hug with oplatky on Christmas Eve of dreams and wishes yet to come...I miss you dearly and took our togetherness for granted. My Mom is going to miss you too-you always managed to make time to visit or take her for lunch as a...

Mary Christine France, Dotty Vudrogovic and Janice Zalewski

My heart is heavy from the loss of my dear friend Janice. She, my wife Mary Christine and I had wonderful times together. I loved her for her honesty, compassion, and energy. Janice, Dotty and Mary Christine are now together again. There will be a time when I'm with them again. I give thanks for having known and loved her.

In the photo of Janice with Obama, Janice is telling him, in no uncertain terms, that "we need more yard signs for Jefferson County!" I know because I was the one who took the photo. Obama is grinning because he recognized what a committed and good soul she was. He said he'd take care of it! Now how could he say no to Janice? No way.

My deepest sympathies are with Janice's family and friends. Hugs and prayers are being sent to all the lives she's touched.

Janice was a lovely, gentle hearted lady. Me and my brother used to do some work for her when she needed help. She was kind and would help us out if she seen us walking to the park. I will never forget a woman as ambitious as Janice.
