Not sure what to say?

Janie, I have so many memories of you and the wonderful meals you created...Baking Challah for Shabbat as a pre-schooler...You will be fondly remembered and dearly missed...

Janie was the person in charge of my wedding, sent by the caterer who had another obligation that day. She was part of our lives in many ways, via the JCC and our kids, community and family events and a wonderful trip to Israel, 25 years ago. It was Janie's first flight at the age of 65...and a visit to the kitchen of the famous King David Hotel in Jerusalem and so much more...We miss you already. You are a legend.

Dear Janie, You will be missed and remembered by so many! Thank you for taking such good care of me for all those teen and adult years I spent hanging out in my second home and second kitchen. You taught me how to make the best kugel during the last few years you had me make it with you at JCC. Those teen years, I had so much fun working at JCC in the afternoon, having dinner with you and then hanging out talking to Ann Pickerell. Thank you for helping bring me up and for being here for all...

Always a sweet wonderful lady, you are going to be missed.

God Bless You Janie! You were the pillar of our community. My family's Jewish holidays were not complete unless you were there [I can even remember grilling my mother once from college because if you weren't going to be in the kitchen what was the point of coming home; oy!] And all the times sneaking into your kitchen at the JCC to grab a snack, getting a playful smack from you, and then being asked if I had enough! Thankfully you gave our community a legacy by printing your recipe...

A very sweet lady, loved by all who were lucky to know her.

Janie was my friend, mentor and confidant. While her home was the kitchen at the JCC her second home was in my kitchen. She shared many memories with my family and was the grandmother my boys never had. My days and many evenings were filled with Janie as I watched the parade of people who stopped by for a visit and to bask in her wisdom. Rest easy my friend you made a difference in the lives of all you who passed through your kitchen. Missing you madly.

Janie, was like a second mother to most everyone who spend time at the JCC. She had more chocolate chip cookies for the children on hand than anyone I every knew. She will be missed greatly but remembered for ever.
