Not sure what to say?

Our condolences to all of Janie's family. Janie Leyva Saenz was our mother's dear cousin. We remember her as a very kind, cheerful, thoughtful and most friendly person. She visited us in Del Rio, TX ever since we were young and continued through the years. She enjoyed going to Del Rio. It's sad to hear of her passing and unable to attend but our most sincere sympathy from the Cardenas, Ortiz and Menjares families.

I first met Janie in the early 70s when we worked for Child Welfare/Protective Services on Nueva Street. This is going way back. She was the Case Aide for the Unit of which I was the Secretary. I believe she along with two other aides initiated that job. She loved her job and did it with professionalism, unlimited love, and wit. She was the type of worker who felt at ease with the program directors, supervisors, the social workers and the secretaries, and the bookkeeker. After I left...

Sincere condolences to Janie's family. I was one of her co-workers at Child Protective Services. She made me laugh just about every time we interacted because she always had some funny story or comment to share. It was so obvious she enjoyed people and often took care of co-workers with tacos and salsa. I remember hearing her talk about how she was trying to come up with a way of not retiring. I believe she loved working at CPS. I will always remember Janie with a smile. God rest...

I think of Janie and I smile. She always had our favorite tacos and the best tasting fideo. I'll never forget the blue, red and white power rangers pillows she made for my three sons, always so caring. My dear, sweet Janie. I knew she was coming down the hallway at the office calling me "cousin"..I will cherish our wonderful memories forever.

Janie was one of a kind. She was a warm, earthy, funny, non-pious angel who went around dispensing love. It was as natural for her as breathing. She had an amazing energy and zest for life. What do angels do? They make us feel special, and cared for, and taken care of.
I cannot begin to remember all the gifts that she gave me over the years -
gifts that made me feel special, cared for and taken care of.
A huge pillow for my aging dachshund to land on when she jumped off...

I will always remember Janie with great affection for her generous nature and her salty humour. Some of the funniest conversations I ever had were with Janie and Betty.

Everybody loved Janie over at CPS. Even when I moved to another agency, Janie would stop by my office to bring me fresh salsa. She was a delightful person.

Janie, you will never be forgotten! You always brought us so much laughs with your sense of humor! Will never forget those morning you will come and bring us tacos - word would get out FAST! with people calling each other "Janie is here with tacos!!" and you would never forget the salsa! I thank God for giving me the oppertunity of knowing you. You Were So Love @ DFPS!

To all of Janie's family; I know that I speak for alot of us from APS (retired) when I say that we will deeply miss Janie and of course her tacos! She always made our day with her funny and witty comments and advise. We loved her at APS and will think of her always. May God Bless all of you. Cata(Duran)Aguirre, San Antonio, Tx
