Janine Canan

Janine was a dear friend of mine for over 60 years. Since the third grade we were in classes together, Girl Scouts
birthday parties, slumber parties, camps, orchestra etc. Between High School and College we traveled to Europe
together for three months, sharing adventures and insights. We stayed in touch periodically after that, but in
later years we lived an hour from each other, sharing most of all our spiritual life and learnings together. Janine

I first met Janine Burford when we started kindergarten at 42nd Street School in Los Angeles in 1947. We grew up together, celebrating birthdays, joining Brownies and Girl Scouts, going on camping trips, playing at each others' homes. We went our separate ways after graduating from Dorsey High School, but Janine will always hold a special place in my heart because of our childhood together.
