Janine M. Killough
Feb. 28, 1970- Sept. 17, 2011

Janine lost her long and courageous battle with cancer when she was called home to her Lord on September 17, 2011. She taught those of us around her about courage and faith. Janine always had a smile on her face and an upbeat attitude toward people and life. She made a definite impression on those around her no matter how long they knew her. Janine lived life fully knowing it was shorter than she wished for. She decided life was too short to not tell it like it was and she expected you to do the same. Those who knew her knew her motto of "Faith, Family, Friends".
Janine was born in Long Beach, CA. She moved to Washington when Mom and Dad retired to Camano Island. She graduated from Stanwood High School in 1988 and went on to graduate from Central Washington University in 1996 with her degree in sociology. She worked for Little Nickel until the cancer took too much of her energy.
Janine was a great daughter, sister, auntie and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Hadley.
She is survived by her brothers and their wives, Lee and Terry, Dan and Kim and Eric and Natasha. She is also survived by her sisters, Sue and Janet, her forever "wombmate". She will always be remembered as "Auntie Bean" by her nieces, Olivia, Sonja and Angela; and her nephew, Nathan.
There will be viewing Tuesday, September 27 and Wednesday, September 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Gilbertson's Funeral Home, 27001 88th Ave NW, Stanwood, WA 98292.
Graveside service will be Saturday, October 1, at 1:30 p.m. at Anderson/ Stanwood Cemetery on Pioneer Highway. This will be followed by a memorial celebration at 4:00 p.m. at New Life Church, 6830 Highland Dr, Everett, WA 98203. There will be a reception at the church following the service. Please join us to celebrate her life.

Not sure what to say?

Janet:
I just today learned of Janine's death and wanted to let you know how precious your sister is to me and I'm sure to everyone who had the joy of knowing her. I doubt there was ever a time I met with Janine that I did not laugh over a story she would share. I will always cherish the wonderful moments of laughter shared with her. I will be praying for you and your family to continue to be covered with comfort through our Lord Jesus Christ and the hope we have in Him. Blessings and...

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. May you find peace in your memories.

I thank God for having Janine be a seed in my life. I rejoice that she is home with the LORD and I will see her again. I know now that nothing can separate us from God's love not sickness or circumstances or the devil or life or death. God, you are there for us as we look to you our hope- our salvation. May these thought never leave me. May they always comfort me. Your Holy Spirit has impregnated my thoughts, heart and mind with a soft stillness of humble and deep gratitude. You are my...

Janet,

I want to send my thoughts to you. I lost my "womb mate " when we were 12. It is very difficult to lose a twin. Take care,
