Not sure what to say?

Jan was my professor at UHCL from 1982-84 and a personal friend as our kids were the same ages. I still miss you, Jan, and at 73 I´m still dancing! Rest in peace dear friend!

My deepest condolences to the family. I did not have a chance to know her, but I mourn her as a UHCL Colleague. God bless her soul.

On top of being a supportive, interesting and challenging dance teacher, Jan had a great sense of humor. She had that huge smile and a great laugh. And I love how she always stayed connected with the Christmas letter.

I did not know Jan well but because of her immense pride in her daughter's accomplishments, I am now friends with her daughter, Jenn. As a mother myself, my heart was warmed by this mother standing outside the dressing room where I was performing with pictures of her daughter doing work similar to mine. What an amazing woman to put her own successes aside (because....WOW, her CV is full of amazing dance!) to share those of her daughter. Jan, you will be missed!

Jan you have been an inspiration to so many and no doubt will continue to hold a strong memory in all our lives. Thank you for your kindness, generosity in the arts and your support. In God's arms you must be!!

Blessings to her family and friends. I enjoyed dancing in Jan's work and loved the inspiration she brought out with her smiles, her humor, her love of the art, and so much more. I hope she continues to dance in the heavens.

Jan was a wonderful teacher and friend. I remember several of her works of choreography well - especially the hilarious piece with the toilet bowl plungers as a primary prop back in the day at HSPVA! Jan was serious - but had a tremendous sense of humor and joy for life. She was also the first teacher who introduced me to the idea of a well placed "relaxation class" as a great tool to combat dancer fatigue. I have never forgotten that - and use it with my students to this day. My...
