It is with deep regret and profound sorrow that we sadly announce the passing of Jannie M. Dupree, age 96 of Kingstree, SC, who died Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at her home.
Graveside Services for Jannie M. Dupree was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at Burrows Hall and Cemetery, 99212 Battery Park Road, Nesmith, SC. Rev. Jerry L. Gadsden, pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church, 3373 Thurgood Marshall Hwy, Kingstree, SC, delivered the Words of Comfort; the interment followed thereafter.

Jannie Beatrice McGill-Glover-Dupree, daughter of the late Kinley McGill and Viola Mitchum-McGill, was born in Kingstree, South Carolina on March 6, 1924. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: a son, Clarence Eugene McGill, and siblings: Eddie McGill, Isreal McGill, Murray McClary, Annie Bell Chandler, Annie Mae Dorsey, Georgianna McGill, Dollie Tisdale, and Carthea Anderson.
On Tuesday, April 14, 2020, in the comfort of her home, Jannie went home to be with the Lord.
She received her formal education in the public schools of Williamsburg County and later received a certificate in home healthcare.
Jannie accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Kingstree, South Carolina for over sixty years.
Jannie lived in Bronx, New York for many years and relocated back to Kingstree to raise her family. She was employed as a nursing assistant at Kingstree Nursing Home and as a seamstress at Oxford Manufacturing, both in Kingstree. She was a member of Esther Chapter #265 Order of Eastern Star.
In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, attending church, raising her nieces and nephews, and helping her family.
She was married to the late Wesley Glover and later to the late Luther Dupree for fifteen years.
Loved ones left to cherish her memories forever are four daughters: Crisetta McCrea of the home; Charlissa Dansby (Clayton Matthews) and Paytreinne McGill (Willie McFadden), both of Kingstree, SC; and Audrey (Craig) McDonald of Lima, OH; a brother, Leroy McGill of the home; six sisters: Winnie Wallace and Mary Frances McGill, both of Kingstree, SC; Evelina McGill of Atlanta, GA; Rosa Juanita (Chester) McCrea of Washington, DC; Thelma L. McGill of Charlotte, NC; and Nancy V. Green of Brooklyn, NY; stepchildren; two grandsons, Parrish JonLuke McGill of Conway, SC and Clarence Ali McGill of Kingstree, SC; four great-grandchildren; a special niece, Deloris (Charles) Chambers of Columbia, SC; a family friend, Abraham Bines of the home; a host of additional nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
