Jaquan D. “Quanchee” Reid

Jaquan Donte Reid, affectionately known as “Quanchee”, 32, of Petersburg, VA, received his wings on Monday, April 25, 2022.  He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Samuel H. Jones and Gail E. Reid, Viola Barnes, James and Viola Jones, Hugh and Grace Morgan, Martha Barnes and Lena Barnes; his aunts, Barbara Copeland and Florence Slade.

Jaquan graduated from L.C. Byrd High School, with the Class of 2008. He held several industrial and mechanical positions with various companies, to include Hill Phoenix. He was known for his positive spirit and his affectionate smile that could brighten the darkest room. Jaquan had a passion for sports, fashion, and most of all his family.

Jaquan is survived by his beloved parents, Monica Reid (Kareem Richburg whom he loved so much) and his father, Fletcher Barnes. He was a dedicated father to four handsome sons, Julian, Jayden, Jordan Reid-Walker and Josiah Bonilla; bonus daughter, Aubrey Walker; brother, Tre’Jon Barnes and sisters, Shyrel Hill and Niayah Richburg; aunts, Marie Sturdivant, Tondra (Kevin), Vanessa Williams,  Andrea Reid, Tabitha Smith (Rendell), Jeannette Harris, Shawndale White-Benjamin, Viola McWilliams, Vanessa Barnes, Irene Booker (James), Dianne Weeks (Ernesto), Delmar Morgan, Sharon Morgan, Alice Copeland, and Gloria Lipscomb; uncles, James Barnes, Terry Barnes (Tracey), Donald Copeland, Robert Barnes, David Jones (Brenda), Williams Barnes (Gina), Kenny Jones (Tammy), Joseph Barnes, Rex Morgan (Roberta), Donald Morgan and Chappell Morgan (Renee).

Jaquan had the continuous love and support of his god-mothers, Shelia Brown and Barbrella Woolridge. He prided himself of all his cousins to include: Jasmine, Jalisa, Remico, Jakhiya, Richard, Fresh, Demonte, Andre, Perry, Chantel, Shenae, Monique, Marliqua, Quadrick, Courtney, Anthony, Alicia, Shante, Marquise, Jaquay, Kiara, Brittany, Donche, Tyrone, Sade, Jumar, Mahogany, Monzell, Malcolm, Mekhi, Sharnese, Nicole, Crystal, Terquel, Tiffany, Kimberly, Jamise, Tronell “TJ” and a host of many more. Jaquan had many special and devoted friends to include: Dre (god-brother), JaQuan, Quadrick, Trini, AJ, Eric, Noon, Shamar, Lil Kevin, Joshua, and the rest of the Heights family.

Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 1021 Halifax Street, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Lamont A. Hobbs, Pastor, Pastor David Jones, eulogist and Minister Logan Tatum, officiating. The interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
