Jared John Mendes, 18, of Tiverton, Rhode Island, son of Michael J. and Carolyn (Olivera) Mendes, a student at Bristol Community College in Fall River, died of injuries sustained in an automobile accident at Rhode Island Hospital on Sunday, March 14, 2004. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 17, 2004, 6-9 p.m., at Pocasset-Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 462 Main Road, Tiverton. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, March 18, 9 a.m., at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, 10 a.m., at Holy Ghost Church on Judson Street in Tiverton. Burial will be at Pocasset Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to Holy Ghost Youth Group, 311 Hooper Street, Tiverton, RI 02878. Arrangements entrusted to Pocasset-Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Tiverton, Rhode Island.
Here we are my beautiful son another year has gone by without you. You have been on heaven as long as you were with me. My heart still aches for you and I guess it always will till we are together again. Love you to heaven and back.

I miss you a lot and when you left us it seemed like fantasy and like it never happened but when I think about it it becomes real. I try to make myself remember the happy things that has happened to everyone with you but all I remember is that the day you were gone and tried to comfort everyone.
