To Jared's family: My husband worked with Melanie in Oklahoma and we got to know Jared on many "double dates" with them. Jared was funny and warm...sometimes quiet; always kind. It was obvious how much he enjoyed teaching, coaching and scouting. We share our deepest sympathies and will continue to pray for you and Melanie.

It was always a pleasure to work with Jared. My first meeting occurred at camp when Jared was teaching adults taking the BSA lifeguard class. Even as a young man he displayed confidence and comfort working with adults. Thank you for sharing Jared with us.

I was just at Sawmill Session 2 this summer. He helped me to get through Brave, I was shocked to hear that he died when I was at another Scout Camp. He was a good person.
