Read MoreWe are shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of our dear friend and colleague Jaro. We shared many good times and happy meals together, as well as being fellow faculty members in political science at the University of Dayton. Our prayers and sympathies are with all his family at this difficult time. Jaro will always be remembered as brilliant, thoughtful, and caring, and will be truly missed.

As Jaro's friend, fellow Ukrainian and former member of the University of Dayton faculty, it is with shock and immense sorrow that I found out about his unexpected death. He and I shared a deep love for our beleaguered country and on a lighter note, compared our progress at the Recplex--UD gym--where we frequently ran into each other. May he rest in peace.
