Jarvis A. Curtis
March 6,1998 ~ April 10, 2022
"It is not the years in your life that count, but rather the life in your years"
"I'm here for a good time, not a long time."
Jarvis was born to Corwin Curtis and Shannon Brewer on March 6, 1998. He was the fifth of six children to his mother and the first and only child of the late father.
Jarvis spent the first half of his life with his father in Hattiesburg, MS and Colorado until his father's passing. The later years were spent with his mother and 5 siblings in Jackson and Ridgeland, MS.
Better know as "JBoo" to family and friends, Jarvis spent most of his early years playing sports, and making everyone laugh. He enjoyed basketball more than any other sport but also participated in football and baseball.
Jarvis was always the jokester of the bunch. He loved laughter and making any and everyone around home laugh as much as possible. He was always an independent person and spent much of his time encouraging family and friends.
Jarvis was always a leader and never feared taking the next step to greatness. He loved to travel and spent much of his free time traveling with friends to different places because he felt that life was meant to be lived.... and he did just that. He believed in hard work and strived at all times to become a better version of himself.
Jarvis was considered an "old soul" to many as his wisdom, perseverance, and strength stretched well beyond his age. There is no one's life that he has touched who haven't been impacted by him in some way.
Jarvis' edcuation began at Oak Grove Elementary/Secondary School while living with his father in Hattiesburg until his father's death. He moved to Jackson and attended Peoples Middle School until his family relocated to Ridgeland, MS where he attended Old Town Middle School and later graduated in 2016 from Ridgeland High School.
Jarvis went on to complete two years of study at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College where he received an Associates of Art Design in 2018. He continued his education at Mississippi State University where he received a Bachelor degree in Business Administration in 2020.
Jarvis leaves a legacy of love and laughter to cherish his memories to his mother Shannon Brewer, his father Corwin Curtis preceded him in death, four brothers, Jeremy Russell, Javonne Russell, Jamal Russell and Justice Brewer, one sister, Jalisa Brewer, two nieces, Raegan Russell and Reign Russell, and one nephew, Karter Russell, He also leaves six aunts and one uncle, and a host of cousins and friends.
