Visiting from Oregon, I can never forget the one time when I saw the Buzzard family at the U.S. bank at Safeway in Ukiah. I told my wife, "That's Sgt. Buzzard!" since he was in uniform. All four of them looked very happy--cashing a check it seems. At that very time I whispered a prayer for them. One or two weeks later I heard that he had been killed...it really shook me.
