Jason Alan Easley was born on April 6, 1977 in Charleston, West Virginia to Judith Jackson Settles and the late Walter Edwin Easley.
In his early childhood, Jason attended Tiskelwah Elementary School in West Virginia. During his adolescence, he attended Alexandria City Public Schools, Francis C. Hammond Middle School and T.C. Williams High School. After graduating from T.C. Williams, he went to Northern Virginia Community College for a short period prior to attending Shepherd College (now Shepherd University) in Shepherdstown, West Virginia on a basketball scholarship. He graduated in May 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Communications.
In July 1995, Jason met Michaella (Harmon) Easley, and from that union they had a daughter, Madison Easley, in November 1996. They later married on October 4, 2008.
After completing his college career, Jason worked for several private companies, such as Hanley Wood, CoStar, and Inside Higher Ed to name a few, while also focusing on becoming a full-time entrepreneur. Jason was passionate about developing his entrepreneurial career, which resulted in the creation of his own business, ForeverDC (later rebranded as The Urban Marketing Group). In addition, Jason had recently partnered with GoGoRadio Live and served as the Advertising Director. He also held the position of Secretary for the Brighter Day Enrichment Academy Board of Directors in Southeast Washington, DC and volunteered for the Project Excel after school program in West Virginia.
At a young age, Jason felt a spiritual connection with God and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He worked diligently to gain a better understanding of and closer personal relationship with Christ through worship and study. He continued to nurture this relationship throughout his adulthood.
Jason was an amazing father, husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. Being with family and friends gave him life and excitement.
Jason was full of LOVE. He always sought to lend a helping hand or shoulder to cry on, and words of encouragement. No matter the role, his loyalty and love for others could never be questioned. Jason held his relationships with others close to his heart. Regardless of the amount of time that passed from the last conversation, he was sure to say “I love you,” because at the end of the day, he understood the importance of letting you know that his love was unwavering.
On Monday, August 24, 2020, Jason peacefully transitioned to eternal life with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Michaella Easley; daughter, Madison Easley; mother, Judith Settles (David); brothers Christopher Easley and Shawn (Shannon) Branham, and a host of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, in-laws, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Easley; maternal grandparents, Newman and Maudeena Jackson; paternal grandmother, Alyce Easley; and mother-in-law, Hawana Harmon.
Jason will continue to live in our hearts. His soul is resting in heavenly peace.
In the interest of social distancing due to the pandemic, a private viewing will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A private memorial service will follow at 12:00 PM.

Jason was a college teammate, a friend, a confidante and someone that I could always count on for deep, meaningful, insightful conversations about life. I'm going to miss his laugh and the random text or IG messages over the years that would turn into hour long conversations. I'm going to miss talking about basketball, team road trips, college experiences and discussions on fatherhood. I'm thankful for the chance to have gotten to know him and I'm thankful that we kept lines of communication...
