Thinking and wondering about Jason & his family. In memory & honor of him on the recent 5th anniversary of his passing.

I met Jason at DLI. He was just a great person, as others have said he always had a huge smile on his face. He even had it when we have him a hard time about the fainting incident. I was very saddened to hear about this and my condolences go out to his family. Semper Fidelis

Please accept my remembrance of Jason on the anniversary of his passing and know that he will never be forgotten.

To the Mann family,

Up until today, I haven't discussed with anyone but a few of my fellow brothers in 1/6 what a mentor, leader, and friend 1st Lt Mann was to me. (outside of a bit at the service in VA)

Jason and I were roommates at DLI and RRP teammates in 1st RadBn. We spent a lot of good and bad times together during those four years or so in California and Hawaii. In the classroom, the barracks, and the field Jay was good to have around.

He succeeded not because he was a natural, but because he was dedicated and believed in what he was doing. He didn't start out fit and strong triathlete, he built himself up one step at a time from a soft and pudgy Jersey boy. His...

Jay was a friend of mine from high school and though it's been more than 2 years since his death, I still think about him often. Recently, I have been teaching a literature unit on the hero and I had my students post a picture on our class website of someone they considered to be a hero. Jay was my pick. He was one of the funniest kids I knew and one of my biggest regrets was not having the courage to ask him to prom - I know if I had, and if he said yes, we would have had a great time. ...

Prayers to the Family. I hope time will bring you some peace.
