Not sure what to say?

I still think about Dr McDowell. Every time I have an appointment at IEC, I
think of his family and say a prayer for them. I remember he always asked about my family and shared stories about his boys. I saw him and his wife in a Sunday school class years ago and the obvious love and playfullnes that was there between them is something I remember. More couples should be like that. Things like that are little jewels that shine, marking a small portion of a life seemingly well lived. My...

Sure miss him , he was definitely a great guy ! Thinking of his family at this time .

Think about him everytime I go down Morton Ave.. Just recently had an appointment at IEC, and saw his picture there. (Doesn't feel the same there.) The last time I saw him he told me to take fish oil for my eyes and it reminded me, seeing his pic, to go pick some more up.. I enquired about his family and said a little prayer for them. I remember the first time I saw him with his family. He and his beautiful wife had their boys, who were preschoolers then, at Godfathers pizza. It was a...

Doctor McDowell was my doctor for several years. I saw him in church and at Westfair Christian Academy when our children went to grade school there. I remember him and his beautiful wife with their two little boys eating at Godfathers pizza and just laughing and having fun with them. I remember having laughs about Veggie Tales at an appointment. I also remember how deeply he loved his wife and sons as he talked about them all of the time. I am so very sorry for your loss and he will be...

We are so sadden and heartbroken to hear of Jason's passing. We have been blessed having Jason as our friend. Many wonderful memories of times spent with him. He was always making us laugh. He will truly be missed. Our family sends our love and prayers to his precious family.

Dr. McDowell was an outstanding eye doctor. My eyesight changed drastically with my pregnancies, and he went above and beyond to manage those changes. He always spoke so highly of you. He loved you all dearly. May peace, love and healing find your family.

I knew Jason for several decades. He took outstanding care of my aging eyes and was so kind and thorough as he checked for any sign of illness. He delivered the news so gently, "Doc, your eyes are just getting older". He was always positive even in times of stress. No words can ease the pain of his passing, but know that our community has lost a great and positive influence. He made a difference.

I was privileged to know Jason in a few different capacities and always enjoyed being around him. Playing basketball with him in the early mornings at the Y—Jason was always so positive and fun to compete with and against. Besides being a consummate professional as a doctor, he was a true humanitarian, and I was captivated by some of the stories he related to me about his mission trips. My deepest condolences to the entire family. Rest In Peace.

Jason was a great man! A wonderful doctor. And good mentor. He went home too soon. You will be missed Jason!
