Stinson Funeral Home Obituary

Jason Andre' Taylor was born on October 18, 1972 in Marquette, Michigan, and welcomed with love to proud parents John A. and Gwendolyn Taylor. After briefly residing in Buffalo, New York and Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jason and his family settled in Detroit, Michigan where Jason spent his early years as a bright and curious young boy. Jason accepted the Lord and was baptized at a young age. He was an avid Star Wars fan and chess aficionado. Although Jason wasn't much of a sports enthusiast, he took a special interest in ice hockey, which he played for several years. Jason graduated from Redford High School of Detroit, Michigan in 1990. Upon his graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps. Reserves where he served until his discharge, a few years later. Jason was particularly adept in computers and technology, and took great pride in helping people with their computer and technology issues.

Jason was many things to many people, but his proudest titles were father and big brother. Jason was the proud father to Marque Andrew (15), John Ryan (12) and Savannah Marie (7). Jason loved his children dearly and cherished the precious memories he created with each of them. Jason was also a loving, loyal, devoted and protective big brother to Erika, Nicole, Ryan and Alikah. Being several years older than his younger siblings, Jason always made sure each were happy, safe and lacking nothing. He was known to take the money from his wallet, grab a few dollars for himself, and give the rest to one of his siblings who wanted to buy something. He also took pride in getting the best and most cherished Christmas presents for each of his family members. Jason consistently gave everything he had to anyone who had a need (or in many cases, a "want" – such as the pager he got Nicole for her birthday one year). Jason taught his siblings many life skills over the years, including how to protect themselves, how to stand up to bullying and how to heal from break ups. Each of Jason's siblings called on him consistently for his words of comfort and his salient advice. Jason was a great listener. Jason also adored his parents and always took the time to recognize them and express how much he appreciated them and their steadfast support throughout the years.

Jason leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents, John and Gwendolyn Taylor of Houston, Texas; grandmother Lillie Clements of Redford, Michigan; sisters Erika Taylor of Houston, Texas, Nicole (Brandon) White of Chicago, Illinois and Alikah Martin of Kalamazoo, Michigan; brother Ryan (Bridget) Taylor of Lansing, Michigan; two sons, Marque Andrew Taylor and John Ryan Taylor of Las Vegas, Nevada; one daughter, Savannah Marie Ruedisueli of Redford, Michigan; nephews Braylon Coleman, Ryan "RJ" Taylor, Jr. and Hunter White; nieces Harper White and Lily Taylor; and a host of loyal and loving friends and family.
