Not sure what to say?

I met Java at Garfield Elementary where we taught together. Besides being a good friend, she was a great mentor. We went to many Missouri State Teacher Association meetings and conventions together.
Thank you, you have left a large void in education.

I had the honor of caring for Ms Java. She was definitely a strong willed woman. She loved the Lord and her family. To her children Darryl, Nicole, James and Tyrone. Thank you for sharing your mother with me for the brief time we had. I will forever remember her. Please know that she will always be with you all. Hold on to her memories and lean on each other to get through the tough days. I'll keep you all lifted in prayer.

Java held a special place in my heart that will empty now. She was a great teacher, in real life, not just a classroom. She taught how to love, be kind and respect others. She even corrected in love. May God give you comfort and peace.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Would you please correct the spelling of our name? Delvin and Shirley McGilbray

To the Family of Java Mae Jenkins: Our thoughts and prayers are with you! We had the privilege of sharing grandchildren with Java! She was such a delightful grandmother who loved her family! We shared so many great times together! She always got a kick out of my husband and I calling and singing to her on her birthday! She was a wonderful “mother-in-love” to our daughter, DeLynn-and shared her wonderful son, James II, with us! She will be missed!
Love you Thompson/Jenkins Families,

I was lucky enough to teach at Garfield Elementary School with Java in the 90s. She was kind, loving, and a great teacher and colleague. I have many memories of her big hugs and her love for my husband’s brisket sandwiches which I would take to her when I could. Many children are better people because of her, and I a better teacher! With warm thoughts and love to her family. I got to be her friend. Melanie O’Donohue. (Green).
