I am saddened to only just now be seeing this sad news. This morning I was having a cup of tea in a Pima Community College mug he gave me during one of the times I went to visit him after moving. I have many found memories of our discussions. Veronique, your father spoke of you with great admiration. Many years ago, I sent your family a miniature Christmas tree with tiny glass ornaments. I took Spanish and French from Dr. Alcaraz. He was one of the finest professors I ever had. He would often speak of his beautiful daughter who was the light of his life. He definitely made a difference in the lives of his students. It was an honor to have known such an intelligent, kind gentleman. Rest in peace, Dr. Alcaraz.
