Coach Davis will always be remembered by many people not only as "Coach" but as friend. He always brought out the best is whoever he was coaching, teaching or just hanging around. In later years we always enjoyed seeing him at the "Ector Reunions". It seems like he awlays remembered everyone.

Mr. Davis was my principal at Fannin Elementary from 1973-1978. What a wonderful role model. He was a towering man to a 2nd grader, but I remember seeing him knelt down often to talk to one of us. I have lost one of my heros. I will always remember the man who took the time to pay attention to a grade schooler and even gave him a nick name "Grasshopper" because he said my three point stance looked like a grasshopper. He even came to hear me talk at ther chamber of comermers banquet in McCamey. Of all the people that were there I was the happest to see Jay V. I will miss him. Aaron Cranford class of 1956 MHS
