I just ran across a letter in one of my back issues that Jay wrote to Popular Mechanics in July of 2002. I found the link on the Internet -- hope you enjoy the flashback. What a great guy. I still miss him and the tours he gave us at the Boeing Museum of Flight. I am originally from Wenatchee, WA--I did not know he had family connections in nearby Omak!

Jay was a carpool buddy for many years for our relative, Omer Timpe Taylor. I have a Certificate of Outstanding Performance to Omer signed by Jay for Omer's work on the 757. I met Jay while he was giving tours at the Boeing Museum of Flight. He was very gracious and spent a lot of time talking to me about his and Omer's experiences working on Boeing projects together. I am fortunate to have gotten to meet him and he was very generous and kind. Thank you.

So sorry for your loss. Jeremiah 29 : 11, 12 says, " For I well know the thoughts that I am thinking toward you, thoughts of peace, and not of calamity, to give you a future and a hope. And you will call me and pray to me, and I will listen to you. "

Jay Anema was never bored. He always seemed to be reading. I loved to have conversations with him about the latest book he'd read. His faith in God was steadfast. He was curious in nature & this seemed to be a driving force in his life. I am proud to call him my uncle. I will miss him greatly.

It was a privilege to know Jay both as a Boeing engineer and as a docent at the Museum of Flight. Jay was one of the "constants" in my life - always encouraging, always interested in what was going on and always pleasant to be around. I'll miss him.
