I to this day am amazed how he even in the later years was able to connect those high notes.....saw him in the 2002 Jerry Butler NPR special ....WILL CONTINUE TO LISTEN TO HIS MAGNIFICENT VOICE....

Condolences to the family..dementia is a horrible disease. I lost my mother to it 30+ years from it. All I could do was quietly watch & love her from a distance. Know I am praying for Jay's family from a distance....my love to you all!!!
