Jay Gaskill

My message is belated only because I just found out today in July that Jay passed away in April 2022. I am deeply sorry to hear of his passing and offer my condolences to his family and friends. I worked with Jay when he was the Alameda County Public Defender while I served as the county's director of social services. I fondly recall our many deep conversations about law and justice, how social and other human services could help the poor and those caught in the criminal justice system,...

Jay was certainly someone you could admire. He lived life to the fullest and kept his quick wit, the slight smile and the twinkle in his eyes through thick and thin. It was my pleasure Jay!
