By a twist of fate Jay and I were placed in the same 2nd grade class at St. Andrews. And so began a journey through many of life's milestones that we shared together. Whether it was our first communion, confirmation, graduation from St. Andrew's and Prep one constant was that Jay and I were side by side. My deepest sympathies to Michelle Chris and extended Hughes family. I met Jay while attending St. Peters Prep 30 years ago. We were part of a close knit group of guys who experienced a lot together. Even as the years passed on and we spread out in different directions I always considered Jay a close friend who was part of an inner circle. I'll miss him deeply. Wherever you are Jay I hope the beer is cold and the Mets win every night.

My condolences to the Hughes family! I only know of Jay from the 8th St. Diner and the last time we were there he was our waiter and very polite. I also know his friend Nancy Attia who also worked there and she was also as sweet as him. R.I.P. Jay and I know you are now one of God's angels!!!!
