I worked with Jay in Thailand in 1979 and again in Ethiopia in 1985. His concern and desire to help those less fortunate what is an inspiration to all of us who worked with him. I am saddened in learning of his passing. Rest in peace Jay

I worked with Jay at the Emergency Department of Bess Kaiser Hospital in Portland Oregon in the early Eighties where he was an Emergency MD and I was an RN. We enjoyed our teamwork and worked well together. I also helped him up at his cabin on Skyline Drive at that time. We had friends in common and enjoyed having Jay as a friend outside of work. He was good to his patients and a friend to me. I will only have good memories of him.

To say we were coworkers doesn’t do Jay justice. He was an incredible physician to work for, and I am blessed to have known him and called him friend. I will miss you. You were a great mentor. Rest In Peace.
