I don't ever recall reading an obituary written in the first person. Thus, as Pseudolous says in "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum", "be the first, start a fashion." So here goes.I, Jay Krevsky, 92, passed away in the early morning hours of August 27, 2025. I was born June 10, 1933,...

Not sure what to say?

I did not Know Jay or ever met him, but I knew of him as everyone in Central Pennsylvania. from his activities on the sports court or the theatre boards. What a life well lived. My condolences to the family.

I met Jay & Nancy when I bought my 1st house on 4th Street. That started a long racquetball journey and friendship. Having been a tennis player in college too, converting to r-ball was great fun when you had the master as your teacher. Many tournaments played and then came Solly better than most of us. Also being educators always made the conversation outside of the gym fun and I again learned so much. I will never forget when he called during Covid from the hospital to tell me doesn't have...

What an amazing obituary! I think Jay was my Sunday school teacher at one point but I remember him most as Tevye at what was then the Harrisburg Community Theater. Being in Fiddler started my love of theatre although, thankfully for my family, I never chose to pursue it professionally. Rest in peace, Jay. Your memory will be a blessing to all who knew and loved you.

I almost forgot! Jay sold a set of encyclopedias to my parents! I can still recall the evening he came to our house on Brookside Drive and convinced my dad that this would be a great reference us kids then in high school, Jr. high and the Yeshiva too. I often sat and read it and sometimes I used it for class assignments too! Thanks Jay!

I was just 15 in 1962 when I met Jay Krevsky at Susquehanna Sr. High. He was our favorite biology teacher. Jay ran a tough class but was always fair to all of us kids. I recall him playing basketball on a teacher's team. He was a great player who played very hard. Later, many years after Susquehanna I'd see him at the Harrisburg Community Theatre and always enjoyed his performances there. The last show I saw with Jay was "1776" and we went there together, Nancy and Jay and the Ledgers and...

I knew Jay when I lived in Hershey, PA. He was a good man who really did make this world a better place. We need many more Jays in this world.

I had the honor to know and work with Jay on stage a few times. I was his Lily St Regis to his Daddy Warbucks in Annie at Oyster Mill and I loved ever minute I got to watch Jay work. We had a cabaret at the Krevsky Center a few years ago and I sang As Long As He Needs Me, not knowing it was one of Jay's most favorite songs and having him smile, hug, and tell me that is a memory I treasure. Nancy, my prayers are with you and your family at this time.

Like Daniel, I did not know Jay Krevsky but the hook was put in me when I read about this being a first person obituary. Such a wonderful life, lived to the fullest. Well written and after reading it he did not seem like a stranger. I join the family in celebrating his life.
