Not sure what to say?

I had a rare brain tumor when I was 29 years old. Nobody in the Washington DC area had worked on it, so they sent me to Dr. Loeffler. He saved my life. I play golf & live a normal life due to his brilliance. He was also a great, personable guy! Miss you, doc.

i heard the passing of Dr. Leoffler. I had a AVM brain bleed in 1990 at the age of 6. He was in my case in children's hospital Boston. If this wonderful team of doctors was not there. I would not be alive today. My saddest condolences to his family. This legacy lives on forever.

Remembering our friendship everyday. Miss Jay everyday. All my best wishes to his family.

I will always remember Jay as an exceptional physician, and a kind and thoughtful person. He made our world a better place. Dale Holman

Sincere condolences to the family of this incredibly kind and talented man. In 1996, he planned and performed SRS on my husband -then age 36 -who had a Grade 4 GBM resulting in my husband living 23 years with a fulfilling legal career and seeing his 3 children graduate from college. Jay´s life and career are and amazing legacy and testament to scientific inquiry/application and patient care

I just learned of Jay´s passing. Jay and I sat in many work-related meetings together and I admired his brilliance, devotion and eye-on-the-goal directness (where the goal was better treatment for cancer). More than that, seeing Nancy´s and Jay´s marriage over the years -a marriage of two dedicated academic physicians - provided an inspiring model for my husband and me, when we began as a couple, as we raised children, and now 30 years into it. I send a big hug to Nancy in this difficult...

I just learned of Dr. Loeffler´s passing. I was diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma in 1988. Dr. Loeffler gave a great effort to provide me with small field radiation . Unfortunately the tumor was too big. He was kind enough to stay in touch with me and help guide me through the surgery. Dr. Loeffler was a great human being and will be sorely missed.

Jay was my physician colleague and friend. He was a natural leader who was also brilliant, kind, and modest. 25 years after I first met Jay, I was diagnosed with two curable brain tumors which he treated with post-operative proton radiation at MGH. He made difficult treatment so much easier. I'm here today as a testament to his great care. His family, friends, and colleagues are fortunate to have shared his life.

My condolences. A very grateful patient from MGH.
