Jay Lord

I had the pleasure of working with Jay, as an accountant, on Responsive Classroom and Just Roots. Jay cared so much about others wanting to teach them to feed them. I've never met another with as much compassion for others as Jay has. He has made me and countless others better humans. May he rest in peace and may all of us step forward and fill the huge void left with his passing.

Ruth, I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Jay´s life and work touched so many people, and his commitment to justice and compassion will continue to resonate far beyond this moment. I know that you are true partners in this work and I am grateful for all that I have learned from you. I remember Jay very well from when our son attended Center School. Condolences to the family. He was fun, warm and welcoming. A great teacher and a very good man.

We never met (I wish we had!), and I wanted your family to know that your spirit, dedication, and legacy live on every day in the work of the Center for Responsive Schools. THANK YOU for having the tough conversations in the early years that brought about change for educators and children. You and the founders have created a beautiful gift of hope and joy that transcends not only territories but also the beliefs and mindsets of educators worldwide. Rest in peace.
