I think about Jay often. One of the nicest men I've ever known. Could be tough when called upon and gentle when the time was right. Proof that a law enforcement officer could be nice and still do an effective job. He'd do anything for you if called upon. Thanks for the opportunity to write about one of my favorite people.

With the greatest respect SGT. Stoner I Honor you. My family moved here in 1973 from Brooklyn, NY. My dad being a retired NYPD Det. My brothers and I being ages 10 to 14 or so got ourselves into a bit of trouble here & there. Not even knowing my dad was one of the force-or as in the NYPD-on the job.You always called my parents first. I remember my father telling you to put him in the slammer. And so you did. RIP Jay you were one of my favorite brother in laws anyone could ask for you were always there for Jumper and myself my kids no matter what all we had to do was pick up the phone and call you will be greatly missed

My deepest sympathies to the entire Stoner family. I worked with Jay for over twenty years on the Police Department. We shared a lot of incredible experiences together on the job. He was a great friend, teacher and supervisor. I'll miss him dearly.

Thinking of you all! Jay was a wonderful man and he was a terrific neighbor!
